Behavioral Health:

Care with Heart

1 in 5 Adults experience mental illness annually

16% of all youth experience mental illness annually

Less than 30% receive the treatment they need

In 2022, AdventHealth conducted a Community Needs Assessment to determine the most pressing needs in our area. The assessment revealed that behavioral health of our residents was the highest priority yet the available resources are significantly lacking.

The COVID-19 pandemic has shed a light on the mental health crisis and, in partnership with you, we must respond.

AdventHealth’s goal is to serve as the regional destination for behavioral wellbeing through exceptional providers, specialized programs, and enhanced partnerships. Your support will make this possible.

  • Renovate the current inpatient location on the 6th floor of AdventHealth Shawnee Mission Hospital Tower II to create a more healing, intentional, cohesive, and welcoming environment.

  • Renovate the Prairie View building (7301 E. Frontage Road) on the AdventHealth Shawnee Mission campus to prioritize early prevention through navigation and assessment, and continuity of care by expanding and housing all outpatient services in one location.

With a Capital Campaign goal of $15 Million and Phase 1 completed in February 2023, we are one-third of the way to our goal. Your donation can make a significant impact in improving access to vital mental health services and promoting overall well-being.
