When Candice White’s teenage son took his life on Nov. 16, 2021, her world shattered. She was in the carpool lane, waiting to pick up her middle schoolers, when the call came: “He’s gone.” He was one of her five children—an old soul, always kind and loving. White found vital support through AdventHealth’s behavioral health services, where treatment is just the beginning.
With a capital campaign goal of $15 million and Phase I completed in February 2023, we are nearly halfway to our goal. The potential impact of the campaign on our community is significant and compelling. Thousands of lives will be changed as we combine resources to invest in Kansas City’s Whole Health together.

Renovate our current inpatient location on the 6th floor of AdventHealth Shawnee Mission Hospital Tower II to create a more healing, intentional, cohesive, and welcoming environment.
Renovate the Prairie View building (7301 E. Frontage Road) on the AdventHealth Shawnee Mission campus to prioritize early prevention through navigation and assessment, and continuity of care by expanding and housing all outpatient services in one location.
