Fund Descriptions 

The following is a list of AdventHealth Kansas City Foundation funds which you can designate for your online gift.  For more information on these funds or others not listed below, please contact our office at 913-676-2055 or extension 72055. 


Area of Greatest Need Shawnee Mission or South Overland Park - Gifts to this fund are not restricted to a specific area and provide flexibility to AdventHealth Foundation to work with our hospitals in determining greatest need at any given time of the year. 

Behavioral Health Campaign - Support improving access to mental health services, find out more here.

B. E. Smith Family Center General Operating - Provides general funding for B. E. Smith Family Center programs, services, and facilities.

Britain Development General - Provides general funding for Britain Development programs, services, facilities, and more.

Cancer Institute Campaign - Supporting cutting-edge technology and programs for the new AdventHealth Cancer Institute. For more information click here.

Cardiology - Provides support for cardiovascular health programs and equipment.

Dr. J. Douglas Cusick Medical Mission Fund - AdventHealth is committed, company wide, to medical missions globally. This fund provides support for AdventHealth Shawnee Mission medical mission trips to Peru and Kenya.

FACT Program - Forensic Assessment Consultation and Treatment (FACT) Program provides specialty care 24/7 for patients of all ages affected by sexual assault, physical assault, intimate partner violence and abuse and neglect.

NICU Support - Support of the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), including support of the patient’s parents.

Nursing Education - Supports continuing education and training for nurses.

Perinatal Bereavement - This fund helps parents dealing with the devastating loss of a stillborn or newborn child including a perinatal support group. 

Postpartum Depression Support - This fund provides support for moms who are experiencing postpartum depression including training for medical staff to identify those at risk.

Shirley M. Hayes Volunteer Fund - Supports our volunteer program and supplements the many complimentary services provided for our patients such as: materials for sewing projects; supplies for patient pampering and supplies for patient room service.

Social Services - Provides patients with immediate support for basic needs such as medication, clothing, and other personal items.

Tess's Touch - Supports the material and educational needs of new mothers who lack basic resources to care for their newborns. 

Whole Health Institute - The Whole Health Institute is an integrative medicine practice that uses a holistic approach to uncover the root cause of disease. This is a self-pay program featuring both individual and group sessions and classes offered by a unique set of integrative providers. The purpose of this fund is to offer stipends to support those facing financial constraints, ensuring access to our self-pay services. For more information click here.
